Az. Agr. Capanna di Cencioni

is an Italian family-run winery established in 1957.

The place is Montosoli, locality Capanna, to the north of Montalcino (SI), in Tuscany. The vineyards of Montosoli, located in one of the best area of the region, are carefully cultivated by Amedeo Cencioni. An agronomist and oenologist, representative of the fourth generation, he continues the family tradition handed down to him by his father Patrizio, his grandfather Benito and great-grandfather Giuseppe.

the vineyards are located in the area of  Montosoli, the Nordic and refined soul of Montalcino, at an average altitude of 250-300 metres above sea level with a south-easterly exposure. The favourable soil of Montacilno,that has always been considered one of the best in the region, along with the particular micro-climate conditions, gives the wines an excellent structure and elegance.

the main concern of the wine farm is to preserve the best clones of Sangiovese and the ancient White Muscat vines existing since the sixteenth century as well as to improve the vineyard ecosystem and the quality of the final product.

generous and ample wines, with a modern touch, but always respectful of the  characteristics of the terroir.

  • Sangiovese: structure, acidity and elegance.
  • Muscat Blanc: floral and fruity, intense and with a good acidity

Common Notes:
a pleasant great harmony  

Red: pasta with meat sauce, white and roast meat, game, cheese.
Late harvest and sweet wines: dry biscuits, almond biscuits and, in case of late harvest, cheese.


Brunello di Montalcino

Vintage 2015

100% Sangiovese

Aging in Slavonian oak casks of 10 to 32 hl for about 34-38 months, followed by aging in bottles for at least 6 months.

Limpid ruby red colour with garnet hues. Intense bouquet with very classic tones. Light scents of tobacco and well-defined dark floral notes.Autumnal undergrowth and dark cherry.Intense mouhfeel with excellent  crispy tannins. The progression, of classic austerity, makes the wine thick and gives it an agility  that leads it to a young, tasty, persistent finish. A wine of great future.

Roasted red meat, game, mature cheese.


Rosso di Montalcino

Vintage 2018

100% Sangiovese

Aging in Slavonian oak casks of 20 to 32 hl for about 6-10 months, followed by aging in bottles for at least 3-4 months.

The colour is clear ruby red with a bouquet rich in red fruit such as cherries, blackberries and blueberries. A very pleasant wine with a good structure and soft tannins. Perfect harmony between aroma and taste. A Sangiovese fresh and of rare quality. It can age up to 8-10 years when bottled.

Cold cut, cheese, pasta with meat sauce, white and roasted meat, mushrooms.


Moscadello di Montalcino

Vintage 2018

100% Moscato Bianco from native clones

75 g/l
Fermentation in steel for about 3-4 months and ageing in bottles for a few months.

Soft golden colour.Lonicera, scents of orange blossom, orange zest, pear. Soft, agile and dynamic. Sweet, but well balanced by the acidity. A wine of exceptional overall drinking pleasure.

Dry pastry and dessert in general.


Moscadello di Montalcino – Vendemmia Tardiva

Vintage 2017

100% Moscato Bianco from native clones

140 g/l
Aging in Slavonian oak casks of 5-10 hl for about 1 year followed by aging  in bottles for at least 6-12 months.

Strong golden color. Ample and complex with intense aroma of acacia honey, apricots and candied fruit. A very pleasant wine with a great structure. The perfect harmony between taste and aroma enhances the  features of the grape variety.
