Ciabot Berton

is an Italian winery, whose strong attachment to the territory of La Morra can be seen in the vineyards it has owned since 1876.

At the end of the fifties, Luigi Oberto‘s great determination and happy intuition brought the company into the world of Barolo small producers. Marco Oberto, fourth generation, with his wife Federica, has renewed the family passion for making wines thus enhancing the uniqueness of the Langhe hills. He is a determined winemaker able to shape wines which express the noble spirit of a diversity inherent in the various souls of the Langhe.

Target:
The main concern of the winery is to make recognizable the various colors that the terroir offers. All of this to create wines able to express the characteristics of each grape variety, the nuances of the soils and vintage variations.

Average age of the vineyards: 45 years
Vinification: traditional temperature-controlled maceration in concrete tanks, with long contact of the must with skins.
Ageing: in Slavonian and French oak barrels and then in concrete.

Garnet red colour. Intense and elegant nose with notes of fruit, sweet spice, sensations of violet and dried rose. Of great aromatic complexity it has a thick and distinct tannic structure. The sip is fresh, sapid and pleasantly harmonic.

Excellent with game, braised red meat, dishes with white truffles or seasoned, also fried, cheese.

Vinification with traditional maceration at a controlled temperature in concrete tanks, with long contact of the must with the skins.
Ageing in Slavonian and French oak barrels followed by ageing in concrete.

Lively garnet red colour. Austere and refined nose with hints of spices and mountain herbs. Balsamic sighs and soft fruity fragrances. On the palate it is clear,mineral, of absolute freshness and persistence.

Excellent with roast and red braised meat, game and tasty cheese.

sandy-calcareous-clay soil - Vineyards: historical vineyards in La Morra - Age of the vineyards: 30-35 years.
Vinification with traditional maceration at a controlled temperature in concrete tanks. Ageing in French and Slavonian oak barrels, followed by aging in concrete.

Garnet with ruby nuances. The nose is ethereal and ample. Hints of minerals and balsamic notes accompanied by classic scents of rose, spices, red fruits and wax. The mouthfeel is rich, tangy and pleasant, well balanced and refined.

Ideal with roast, red braised meat, game and seasoned cheese.

Traditional maceration at controlled temperature in concrete tanks. Ageing in Slavonian oak barrels, then in steel.

Pale garnet with ruby highlights. Authoritative and elegant  bouquet with hints of wild rose, violet and broom. Plum, strawberry, red fig and carob flavours accompanied by lovely notes of spices and licorice. Fresh, delicate with sweet and pleasant tannins and a strong acidic vein well integrated into the body of the wine.

Good with game, red braised meat, aged cheese and dishes served with white truffle.

Temperature-controlled maceration in steel. Ageing in steel and then in bottle.

Brilliant garnet red with ruby highlights.It offers a well defined fresh and fruity bouquet with notes of violet and peony, currant and cherry. With a precise and fine tannic texture, it is mineral, persistent and inviting.

Agnolotti with meat sauce, white and red stewed or roasted meat.

soil: calcareous-sandy - 25 years old vineyards in Roero
Soft pressing of the grapes and static decantating, followed by fermentation of skins at 18ºC. Ageing: on lees for at least four months.

Straw-yellow colour with greenish highlights. Delicate and fine, it is fresh with hints of citrus and exotic fruits. The mouthfeel is full and soft, persistent and tangy with a finish reminiscent of hay. Just the right  acidity and lovely minerality make it an extremely pleasant wine. Excellent with fish and shellfish dishes, soups and light starters.
