Domaine Nicolas Gonin

In a region known as Bas Dauphinè, the winemaker Nicolas Gonin, runs his domaine by cultivating, protecting and safeguarding the historic vineyards situated halfway between Lyon and Grenoble.

The place is Saint-Chef, Isère (Bas Dauphinè) France.

Ageing on fine lees in vats for 20 months. Malolactic fermentation is carried out followed by light filtration and low doses of SO2.

The scent is overwhelming, dominated by notes of very ripe and toasted hazelnut. The aeration reveals hints of peach. It is an aromatic wine that is easily consumed.

Ageing on fine lees in vats for 20 months. Malolactic fermentation is carried out followed by light filtration with low doses of SO2.

Fresh, intense, and very aromatic notes. Hints of dried apricot, orange blossom and mandarin. Ample structure and beautiful freshness on the palate, almost unexpected.

Verdesse

Ageing on fine lees in vats for 20 months. Malolactic fermentation is carried out followed by light filtration with low doses of SO2.

The nose has aromas typical of passion fruit, litchi, green tea, coffee, and mirabelle plum.

The reductive style and long age allow this wine to exhibit a beautiful balance between maturity and freshness.

The sip is deep and long.

Oolithes

80% Jacquere - 20% Verdesse

Bajocian white oolytic limestone.

Fine lees are aged for eleven months in vats, followed by malolactic fermentation and light  filtration with low doses of SO2.

Hints of pear, flint and white flowers are present in the inaugural vintage of this wine from the high plateau of the island Crémieu. It displays great minerality, beautiful tension and strong depth.

Trinitè

Annata 2021

60% Altesse - 30% Viognier - 10% Verdesse

The wine is aged for a total of eleven months on fine lees in vats, followed by malolactic fermentation and light filtration with low amounts of S02.

Hints of white flowers and lime blossoms. Touches of fresh apricot. The taste tells of a consistent wine, lively, deep, still a little shy, but with freshness and nice pleasantness.

Mondeuse

Vintage 2020

100% Mondeuse

After 100% de-stemming, 30 days of maceration and daily pumping over, the wine is aged on very fine lees in vats for nine months. No clarification, but filtration. Low doses of SO2.

The taste-olfactory phase is characterized by the presence of cherry, violet, cocoa, pepper and licorice aromas, along with a that is very tannic with respect for the usual sweetness of ripe Mondeuse.

100% Persan

After 100% de-stemming, 30 days of maceration and daily pumping over, the wine is aged on very fine lees in vast for forty-eight months. No clarification, but filtration. Low doses of SO2. 

The wine displays an intense and lively colour: a sign of good acidity.

The olfactory spectrum is typical of the grape. Notes of raspberry, thyme, spices, and licorice.

The taste is characterized by texture, depth, and freshness.
